I have held a variety of positions in both the community and corporate sector, with a focus on communications, writing, project management, training, information technology, and marketing. Since the birth of my daugther Grace in 2006, I have been self-employed providing web design, graphic design, desktop publishing, and communications services to a range of clients. I have also provided career services to clients seeking employment in the public service. My client base has been built through word of mouth only and repeat business over many years.

My husband, Nick Shady, and I have just started our consultancy business, HS Business Solutions (www.hsbsolutions.com.au). Between us, we have a broad range of skills that will enable us to provide a range of business services to small businesses, community groups and family farms.

I spent time working in Thailand as an Aid Development Worker through placements with Australian Volunteers International. I was predominately based in northern Thailand in the city of Chiang Mai. Ayesha also spent time at the Burmese-Thai border running a media training program for Karen (ethnic group of Burma) youth.

Volunteer Contributions

I am committed to contributing to my local community. I enjoy volunteering and have the opportunity to work for a number of organisations, including:

  • Sovereign Hill – was a member of the Friends Of Sovereign Hill (FOSH) and interact with visitors while in 1850s attire and observing the etiquette of the time
  • Sangklaburi Safe House – worked collaboratively with a volunteer posted to Thailand with Australian Volunteers International develop a logo, marketing materials, and website
  • Manning Net – provide website design and hosting for women’s networking group
  • Mum’s Milk – provide website design and hosting for Breastfeeding Association in the Manning Valley-Great Lakes area of NSW
  • Daylesford Dharma School – currently manage the school’s website, previously managed grants and contributed to fundraising activities
